DHI Hair Transplant
Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) is a hair transplantation technique in which the hair follicles that are resistant to detachment are individually removed from the nape and inserted directly to the recipient area.
The DHI technique for hair transplantation can be carried out with or without shaving while under local anesthetic. DHI method only requires the donor area to be shaved if necessary. With the DHI pen, hair follicles are directly transplanted from the donor area to the recipient area.
The Choi Pen needle is used to implant the hair grafts into transplant area.
According to the originally developed plan, the hair follicles of the proper thickness are placed inside the implant needle of different diameters at an angle of 40 to 45 degrees and then planted individually in the recipient area. Choi implant needle simultaneously opens the channel in the scalp and pushes the hair follicle into the channel.
The procedure is straightforward:
- Examination of patient.
- Appliance of local anesthesia to donor area for extraction of hair follicles and the recipient area for the implantation.
- Hair follicles are extracted one by one using micro-punch.
- Extraction happens right before implantation
- Grafts are directly implanted into the target area using the Choi Implant Needle.
